Pastor and Leaders

Set Apart for Service

Meet our Pastor and his Wife

Pastor Phil Grotenhuis comes to Pathway from Phoenix, Arizona. Phil and his wife Joy have been married for 35 years and have four grown children and five grandchildren. Phil served in four churches before coming to Pathway, one in Canada (Ontario) and three in the U.S. (Washington, Missouri, and Arizona). He received his training for the ministry at Mid-America Reformed Seminary (M.Div) and currently serves on its board. Joy brings to Pathway various musical gifts and is eager to serve both Pathway and Abbotsford. Both Phil and Joy love the Pacific Northwest and the opportunity to be a part of God’s story in His world.

Our Leaders

At Pathway, we believe that leadership is a shared venture. Principally, we believe the Bible clearly teaches this; practically, we believe this is the route of wisdom (many hands make for light work). Along with the pastor, we have elders and deacons (I Timothy 3:1-13) who are called to shepherd Pathway members, nurture newcomers, and equip us for mission in God’s world.
